New Chapter finished today!

and just back from a brilliant tango lesson. Off to a practica this evenning after a rest up. Have decided about the next piece I need to write...again its continuing with the theme of showing what attracts people/characters to one another...in this case it will be Roland to Almir. I want to write something that shows Al being supportive and which brings out Als maturity beyond his years which makes Roland want to take their relationship to a different level. I know what device I am going to use(but am keeping it a secret on the blog). Its a definate knack being able to craft how relationships - especially sexual/love relationships- evolve and what the initial attractions are and how these change as a relationship grows and develops. When Ive done this I am going to complete a time line with this theme to set these changes into the plot of my novel.

Still in awe of the Net and how fairly instantaneously one can call up information - when I was writing today I needed to match the time Almir left the gym with it getting dark. I knew it was March 7th...so I just googled and got a whole table of sunrise and sunset times through the year for London. Also gave another of my characters bed bugs and wanted to see what bed bug bites loOk like and how they feel...again, I googled the question and got the response straight away, which allowed me to carry on writing the piece I was working on to completion, without getting too side tracked.

  1. Congratulations on finishing the chapter! I'm jealous! Just another reminder of how I have to get my creative butt in gear...

  2. There was a programme on our BBC South regional current affairs series last night about a woman called the Angel of Mostar -- and followed her back to meet some of the children she saved. One was called Almir.

  3. Steve - thanks - it IS difficult sometimes - keep going , I too have dry spells.Atleast your Martini bottle still has plenty in it! One thing thats good about having a blog is that you can bitch and praise yourself in good measure as you feel necessary! DO YOU WANT TO LINK Blogs? Become a Follower? That would be good.

Mike - ah, intersting observation. Almir is more commonly a Bosnian boys name. It usually indicates that the boy is muslim(though not always) . Almir is used as a Kosvar Albanian boys name, though not often. I have chosen Almir intentionally as my protagonist's name because it adds(I hope) to the mystery. When Uran Nikaj is resassigned a new identity under the witness proctection scheme he becomes Almir Hajic - when he starts work at the Street Cleaning Depot in London most there believe he is a Bosniak and have no clue he really is from Kosovo ...and Almir doesnt correct them.
